Construction Material Storage

There are many assembled post frame pole barn structures scattered about the countryside, all across the United States. I recommend that two 30’ x 80’ by 10’ high, post frame pole barns be obtained and disassembled and buried prior to impact. After the firestorms subside, these can be dug up and used for the above-ground shelters in Stage 2.

As you disassemble the pole barn, draw sketches to show how to reassemble. Numbering the beams & lumber may help in reassembly.

Pole barns in general are not insulated. During the impact winter, the outside temperature may drop to –700 F. It is imperative that the Stage 2 shelter be well insulated. For each 30’ x 80’ polebarn that is 10 foot high, approximately 5000 sq. ft of chicken wire, 9000 sq. ft of R-19, 6" thick unfaced fiberglass insulation, and 5000 sq. ft. of 6 mil black plastic will be required for this purpose. The rolls of fiberglass insulation can be stored in the Stage 1 personnel shelters (12 rolls per shelter), where they could be used to plug up any breaks that might develop during the debris fallout and earthquakes.

This construction material for the Stage 2 Shelter; including, all the lumber, wood roof tresses, nails, galvanized steel siding and roofing, and other building supplies, along with hammers, ladders wood burning stoves and flues should be placed on the ground, covered with 6-mil black plastic and then covered with 3 feet of earth.
