TITLE>Task Assignments

Task Assignments

Personal initiative and ingenuity is critical to make this process work and should be highly valued. The process should resemble a large volunteer organization focused on a single mission, their individual/family survival. Everyone who wants to be included in a shelter complex should contribute – this means talent, critical resources and their labor.

Each evening as darkness falls, a meeting should be held of all members of the shelter complex to divide up the next day’s tasks, discuss planning and resolve issues & options. Every man, woman and child should contribute to the effort of shelter construction and provisioning.

There is a diverse range of tasks required to construct and stock a shelter complex. Although the full weight of these tasks may seem enormous and overwhelming, remember that there are 800 other talented individuals next to you and that all that you are being asked to accomplish is your part.

The list below provides an outline of the various tasks. It may come in handy when the work needs to be divided up. Small independent teams will form to accomplish each of these tasks. The size of the teams should be balanced to ensure all tasks are completed before the impact. Team size may be readjusted during the nightly planning meetings. As individuals complete one task, they should move onto another, until all the tasks are completed.
